Up to now, 19 companies have disclosed their annual report performance, and 14 companies have achieved year-on-year growth in net profit during the reporting period. In addition, 123 companies also disclosed their 2017 annual report performance forecasts, with 92 companies with good performance, accounting for more than 70%. Among them, 20 companies expect net profit to increase by 100 or more year on year.

Despite the fierce development trend of the industry, the talent gap is still large, and majors related to "big data technology and application" have gradually become the focus of consideration by many parents and candidates.

With the development and application of artificial intelligence, many industries, including IT companies, retail, finance and so on, have a large number of data mining talents. The landing and popularization of various intelligent applications also stimulate the growing demand for big data talents.

In order to cooperate with the local big data industry layout and solve the talent gap problem, many colleges and universities also need to make efforts in the training of big data talents, such as Hebei, Chongqing, Guizhou, etc.

According to the results of the filing and approval of undergraduate majors in colleges and universities in 2017 recently released by the Ministry of Education, 2105 new filing undergraduate majors and 206 new approval undergraduate majors have been added nationwide, totaling 2311 new majors. Among the newly-added undergraduate majors, "Data Science and Big Data Technology" is the most popular.

In addition to internal training, overseas talent introduction and the return of overseas talents have also become an obvious trend in the direction of big data talent flow: some Internet companies have gone to sea, set up research and development centers overseas, artificial intelligence research institutes, etc., and recruited a large number of overseas technical experts. Moreover, the rapid development of the domestic market has also attracted a large number of overseas talents to return.
