As British Prime Minister Theresa May just concluded her visit to China, the fourth bus line of BYD ADL pure electric bus in London was officially put into operation last Saturday, actively responding to the call of the leaders of the two countries to jointly promote the development of trade, investment and other economic and trade fields between China and Britain.
BYD's fleet of all-electric buses operating on London's 153 bus route
The fleet is operated by Go-Ahead, a TfL-owned operator of the London Transport Authority, on London's busy route 153. The operation time is between 5 am and 23 pm every day from Monday to Saturday, and the departure time is later on Sunday. The line straddles most of London's congested streets, running between the Finsbury Park site in the north and the Marsh Gate site in the heart of the financial district.
The fleet consists of 11 10.8-meter BYD ADLEnviro200EV pure electric single-layer buses, which have been successfully put into operation. It will be parked at Northumberland Park yard station in the Tottenham district of North London. In addition, the station is also equipped with charging piles independently developed and built by BYD.
The other three lines jointly built by BYD and ADL in London are also all operated by Go-Ahead: the 521 and 507 lines at Waterloo Station and the 360 line at Camberwell Station. In the next few months, BYD and ADL will deliver more pure electric buses to other operators in London.
Richard Harrington (RichardHarrington), Director of Engineering at Go-Ahead, said, "As a transformative pioneer in London's public transport sector, we are delighted to have taken another important step in the electrification of London's public transport. Go-Ahead has more than six years of experience in operating all-electric buses. And we are always ready to contribute to the further improvement of air quality in the capital."
Frank Thorpe (FrankThorpe), national manager of BYD's UK branch, said, "The smooth launch of the pure electric bus fleet once again proves the good partnership of BYD ADL-not only can provide high-quality bus products, but also BYD and ADL jointly plan and support each other, providing a strong guarantee for the orderly operation of the bus."

BYD pure electric bus runs on London bus line 153
In 2017, BYD's global sales of pure electric buses exceeded 14000 units, and the sales of pure electric buses ranked first in the world for four consecutive years. In the UK, BYD's pure electric buses are located in cities such as London, Nottingham and Liverpool, with a cumulative mileage of more than 1.6 million kilometers. With the continuous upgrading of the "golden age" between China and Britain, we have reason to believe that relying on the British market, BYD will blow the green wind across more and broader overseas markets.
