Resistance welding machines are widely used in the production lines of various industries, which means that resistance welding machines are more suitable for automatic production of robots than other connection methods. Select the spot welding robot, must consider the characteristics of the base metal and the production rhythm, for example, in the production process of the car, each car welding points up to thousands of points, how to quickly welding has become the key reason to shorten the production rhythm.
Selection basis for industrial robots in spot welding applications:
(1) The actual working space that the spot welding robot can reach must be larger than the working space required for welding. The working space required for welding is determined by the position of welding spots and the number of welding spots.
(2) The spot welding speed must match the production line speed. First of all, the single point working time is determined by the speed of the production line and the number of points to be welded, and the single point welding time of the robot (including pressure, power, maintenance, displacement, etc.) must be less than this value, that is, the spot welding speed should be greater than or equal to the production speed of the production line.
(3) The spot welding robot with large memory capacity, full teaching function and high control accuracy should be selected.
(4) The robot should have sufficient load capacity. The load capacity of the spot welding robot depends on the type of welding tongs used. For the welding tongs separated from the transformer, a robot with a load of 30-45kg is sufficient; for the integrated welding tongs, the mass of the welding tongs together with the transformer is about 70kg.
(5) The spot welding robot should have an interface for communication with the welding machine. If a flexible spot welding production system consisting of multiple spot welding robots is formed, the spot welding robots shall also have a network communication interface.
(6) When multiple robots are required, it is necessary to study whether to use multiple models and use them with multi-spot welding machines and simple rectangular coordinate robots. When the robot interval is small, attention should be paid to the arrangement of the action sequence, through the robot group control or mutual interlocking action to avoid interference.
