In a twinkling of an eye, 2020 is already halfway through. And under the sudden impact of the new crown epidemic, the bus market in the first half of this year can be described as ups and downs.
According to the latest data from China Bus Statistics Information Network, in June 2020, the 32 bus companies it focused on sold a total of 15489 buses over 5 meters, down 21.68 percent year-on-year, and the decline was larger than the decline (-6.14 percent) in May. However, the ring-on-ring growth trend continued in May (10.73 percent), and the ring-on-ring growth rate expanded to achieve an increase of 23.40 percent. From a big 261.24 percent month-on-month increase in March to 39.08 percent in April, to 10.73 percent in May, and 23.40 percent in June, the market is in a post-epidemic recovery cycle and upward path.
In June, among the top ten companies, Yutong continued to rank first in the industry with sales of 3414 vehicles, with a market share of 22.04.
Foton Ouhui sold 2795 vehicles, up 96.83 per cent year-on-year and 6.68 per cent month-on-month, with a market share of 18.05 per cent, continuing to rank second.
Zhongtong Bus sold 1467 vehicles, up 29.14 per cent from the previous month, and its market share rose to 9.47 per cent (9.05 per cent in May), maintaining its advantage after returning to third place in the industry in May.
BYD ranked fourth in the industry with 1010 vehicles, up 24.38 per cent year-on-year and 59.06 per cent month-on-month respectively, and its market share rose to 6.52 per cent (from 5.06 per cent in May).
Golden passenger car sales were 801, up 73% month-on-month, ranking fifth, with market share rising to 5.17 per cent (3.69 per cent in May).
Yaxing bus, medium car electric, Jinlong bus, Suzhou Jinlong Haige bus also achieved a significant growth month-on-month. Among them, Yaxing bus increased the highest month-on-month, reaching 1304 percent. China's electric car also doubled to 111.18 percent.
Among the top ten enterprises, Foton Ouhui, BYD, Yaxing Bus, Dongfeng Xianglu achieved "double growth" year-on-year and month-on-month ". Among them, Fukuda Ouhui increased the highest year-on-year, nearly doubling.
In the first half of this year, the industry sold a total of 59218 passenger cars over 5 meters, down 29.86 from the same period last year. However, the decline from the previous five months (-33.23 per cent) continued to narrow, signalling a continued slow recovery.
However, both the single month and the year-on-year decline in cumulative sales indicate that the bus market as a whole is in a downward cycle, and even if the impact of the epidemic is removed, the situation in the bus market is still not optimistic.
In the first half of the year, Yutong sold a total of 14868 passenger cars over 5 meters, with a market share of 25.11, continuing to rank first in the industry.
Fukuda Ouhui continued to rank second with sales of 10894 vehicles and a market share of 18.40.
Zhongtong bus sales of 5906 vehicles, market share of 9.97, to maintain the third place.
It is worth mentioning that in the first half of the year, the top ten cumulative sales of passenger cars over 5 meters were exactly the same as the top ten in the first quarter, the first April, and the first May, but the ranking changed slightly. The increasing solidification of the industry pattern is evident.
BYD and Dongfeng Xianglu are the two companies in the top ten that achieved cumulative sales growth year-on-year, with year-on-year growth of 96.39 and 7.25 respectively. And BYD's ranking rose from 8th to 6th, nearly doubling year-on-year growth and increasing its market share from 4.28 per cent to 4.87 per cent.
Also achieving a share increase was the gold passenger car, which rose from 4.36 per cent in May to 4.57 per cent in the first half of the year.
The first half of the year, under the influence of the epidemic, can be described as fleeting, but also disrupted the enterprise's previous various deployments. So, against the backdrop of a continued improvement in the epidemic, it remains to be seen how the industry landscape will evolve with less than half a year left in 2020.
